The world’s oldest system of traditional health care has evolved over thousands of years on the Indian subcontinent: Ayurveda. In the meantime, this holistic health science has even been recognized by the WHO (World Health Organization). But what makes Ayurveda different from, for example, our conventional healthcare system?
The biggest difference to our traditional medicine is that Ayurveda does not treat symptoms and illnesses until they are created. Rather, it is about preventing diseases effectively and comprehensively. Ayurvedic science has developed a complex guide to this end, which essentially consists of giving individuals individualized recommendations on appropriate diet, exercise and everyday life. This can achieve a comprehensive balance on the physical, mental and emotional level.
Ayurveda strives to see the whole and make the principles of life accessible to all of us. According to Ayurvedic knowledge, it is important to always consider all levels of health. After all, according to Ayurveda, life is a complex combination of body, mind and senses.
So health is much, much more than simply following a “healthy” dietary trend, going to the gym or not having acute symptoms. It’s about being in harmony with yourself and the world around us. That sounds a bit difficult at first, of course. But Ayurveda is a comprehensive and competent guide on this very individual way.
Vishnu grew up with Ayurveda, so that Ayurvedic health education has been an important part of his life since childhood. He knew early on that he would study following his graduation from Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research, Bangalore. After his successful graduation, he finally completed an apprenticeship as a pulse diagnosis expert at Sri Sri Ayurveda in 2012.
In order for people outside of India to benefit from Ayurveda, he decided to work abroad and traveled to many countries. These included Italy, Montenegro, Latvia and Spain, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Slovenia, Poland and Iraq. Vishnu has successfully advised and supported some 20,000 people on their way to health in recent years.
Vishnu’s empathic character was further strengthened by his time abroad and the many people he met. He is considered by his clients as conscientious and competent Vaidya.
