In the Indian tradition, Yoga and Ayurveda are going hand in hand already for more than 5000 years, providing holistic tools of living healthy and happy. We are therefore grateful to have found a yoga centre to partner with for offering our Ayurvedic services in Cologne (Köln).
Our Sri Sri Ayurveda Köln chapter is located in the Yoga centre “Fleur de Coeur” in the district of Köln-Ehrenfeld. The venue has two yoga rooms and provides a large offer of regular yoga classes.
In “Fleur de Coeur”, once per month, we are offering our holistic Ayurvedic consultations with nutrition and lifestyle recommendations. Sometimes, we are also conducting Ayurveda talks and workshops.
Our local sister organisation, The Art of Living Köln, is providing its services like introductory sessions, weekly classes and weekend courses in breathing techniques, meditation and yoga, in the yoga centre “Fleur de Coeur” as well.
The Sri Sri Ayurveda venue in Köln is located at: Fleur de Coeur, Wahlenstraße 9, 50823 Köln

The term “health” is not so easy to define, but health is more than the mere absence of disease. The question of what health really marks the beginning of the world’s oldest health science – Ayurveda. It comes from the Indian subcontinent and offers a comprehensive and holistic system for the prevention and treatment of diseases.
In complete contrast to our conventional medicine, Ayurveda does not start with the treatment of already existing diseases. Rather, Indian health education focuses on disease prevention through individualized dietary, lifestyle and sports recommendations. Their goal is to give us physical, mental and emotional harmony.
The herbalism-based traditional health system has already been recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO). The holistic approach of Ayurvedic teaching is defined not only by its way of treating, but also by its endeavour to recognize the essence of life and the levels of health. Health is not just the absence of disease, but the presence of a healthy symbiosis of body, senses and mind.
Of course, according to this knowledge, it is not enough simply to eat well, to move and not to be ill. True health arises only when we are in harmony with ourselves and the surrounding world. The Ayurvedic teaching offers us an effective guideline for achieving this goal – the attainment of our health.
Chaithanya comes from the homeland of Ayurveda and has devoted more than a decade to the scientific and practical study of this traditional system of health care.
